CURRENTLY IN PROTOTYPE PHASE - PLEASE INQUIRE IF INTERESTED
The Mixed Needs Rain Machine is an interactive acoustic appliance intended for long periods of passive listening. A gentle crackling sound is generated in real-time using digital signal processing techniques; no recorded samples are used and the sound's parameters can be subtly adjusted to the listener's liking using 3 knobs. The device is housed in a white, ceramic enclosure and dedicated to a single a sound. Its congenial physical appearance and limited functionality are intended to strengthen the listener’s emotional association with the object. We hope this machine's effect will be become a familiar part of the atmosphere in your daily living.
Knob 1 - Sparseness
Knob 2 - Droplet size
Knob 3 - Distance
Turn knobs slowly to adjust the parameters of the sound. Effects will be subtle. We recommend making small adjustments and allowing the machine to play for several hours. As we say "set it and forget it."
